Five forms of text

Music

Ipod Girl 1 Music

There is nothing that makes me feel more alive than music. Music is the rhythm that speaks to all of us. Its lyrics would be considered a live form of text according to Bazerman and Russell. It gives some of us life. It makes our hearts beat faster or slower, it brings a memory to us, and it even evokes a certain feeling from  listening to the words.

Text Messaging

We have come to an age that text messaging has become a new form of text entirely on its own. It has become a main tool of communication for people around the world to stay in contact with each other. Text messaging has become so popular that calling people has become less common. A ttyl, lol, yolo, w.e, and other short cuts is all we need to get though our day.

Tattoos

For some, a tattoo can tell people their life story in beautiful calligraphy or an image. For these people, tattoos are a form of text they use to creatively express themselves everyday. It is a form that can tell any stranger their story. A text that gives others a little hint of the person who they truly are.

Memes

In today's society. We have created memes as a form of text to communicate with each other. We use pictures of famous individuals or simply funny animals attached with words to convey a message. A message to invoke laughter, awkwardness, or even anger.

Journals

A journal may be considered to be the oldest forms of text, but to me it will always be the most elegant and mysterious. One can always learn so much from reading another person's journal. It allows us to see how that individual is feeling. It's as if we are a fly on the wall as we listen in on their fears, happiness, sadness and anger. We learn things that we may never get to learn by just looking at that person or even talking to them.
