Street art:
Street art is an up and coming kind of text that has become
popular due to artists like Bansky who travels around the world leaving his mark through words and pictures.
A major part of this kind of art is the response it receives on social media. Through people taking pictures of
the art and sharing it on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, the art is
constantly being viewed and allows the work to be alive.
Social Media:
Through the instant communication that social media
provides, I believe that this kind of text is alive in a different way then something like a piece of literature. Because the world is constantly updating their statuses
and tweeting away, the internet is constantly buzzing.
Literature:
I am a firm believer that books and other works are
considered alive only because every time someone picks up a book to read, they
are going to interpret and interact with the text in a different then maybe I
had the first time I read it. The words in books are alive because the reader
can develop a special relationship with them and interpret it in a way only
they can.
Online Magazines/Newspapers:
Newspapers like The New York Times and The Wall Street
Journal have created apps to allow for their media to be viewed online. Because
of the nature of the Internet, it is constantly being updated and people are
constantly being flooded with information.
Blogs:
Blogs are the new instant success story online and it seems
that almost everyone has a blog. I think this kind of text is alive due to the
fact that avid readers come back every time there’s a new post. When there is a
constant audience, the author can create a relationship with their readership
through the words.
